About the Department
History Department of Siddhinath Mahavidyalaya started from the inception of the College with Honours and General course. It was enriched with dedicated teachers who always tried their level best for academic upliftment of students. Extension lectures/seminars had been arranged and students used to participate in NSS related activities, Sports, cultural programmes/dance performances, excursion/ study visit etc. Teachers of the Dept. used to participate in College Seminars, workshops, various cultural programmes, sports, seminars of different academic institutions and published articles in reputed journals etc. It must be added that a vibrant atmosphere always prevails in this department undoubtedly.

Activities
Wall Magazine:
Department has Wall Magazine named ‘Shilalekho’, its main focus is to encourage the students to make analytical enquiries about historical events of both national and international levels.
Freshers’ Welcome & Farewell:
The students show great enthusiasm in welcoming new entrants to the Department. They also give farewell to the Third Year students. On both occasions cultural functions are arranged by students of the Department.
Seminar/ Special Lecture:
Student-seminar, special lectures, group discussions, debates and quiz are frequently arranged by the department.
Short-term Course:
The Department has started offering short-term skill enhancing add-on courses that not only have utility for job, self-employment but also lead to a growth and empowerment of the students.
Educational Tours:
Every year the department organizes educational tours to places of historical interest.
